If you’re dieting or cutting down on sugar then LOOK AWAY NOW Haha!
If neither of the above applies and you fancy a full on naughty but nice treat then read on….
So I picked some apples from the tree in my garden and decided to bake up some goodies…
Normally I would go for low sugar, healthy options but before I knew it the golden syrup and toffee were being melted and these happened!

4 small apples
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tbsp Golden syrup
2 tbsp Black treacle
125g Butter
50g Soft muscovado sugar
300g oats
100g toffees
Splash of milk (any type)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade.
Line a 10/12″ square sandwich tin with parchment paper.
Purée the apples with the lemon juice in a saucepan over low heat. Allow the mixture to simmer gently until a nice apple purée is formed.
Melt and combine the butter, sugar, black treacle and golden syrup.
Add oats to mixture and stir thoroughly.
Spoon half the mixture into tin to form base layer.
Add the apple purée on top to coat the oat mixture.
Spoon the remaining oat mixture on top fully coating the purée.
Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden.
Allow to cool.
Melt the toffee gently in a pan with the splash of milk and drizzle over the top of the flapjacks.
Transfer flapjacks to fridge for 15-20 minutes.
Cut into squares, slices or massive chunks and enjoy!

These should be eaten in moderation!!!

Much Love and Health,
Kelly Sephton
